BAJA BHAIS is a team of undergraduate students from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. The team designs, builds and races an All-Terrain vehicle which participates in annual events such as Baja SAE India and Enduro Student India. With NATRIP facility, Baja SAE India is conducted in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh. Enduro Student India is organized by SplitSecond Engineering & Performance Pvt Ltd and takes place in Eachanari, Coimbatore. Innovation and perseverance of our team enriched with practical skills, have always paved our way in the quest to perfect our ATV design. Dreaming of building the best ATV in the country, we are constantly looking for new avenues like lighter materials and advanced manufacturing processes to maximize reliability and performance.
PSG College of Technology is an autonomous, government aided engineering college in Peelamedu, Coimbatore. It is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The college offers a total of 48 full-time and part-time programs in Science, Engineering and Management at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Holding 5th in Tamilnadu and 29th in All-India ranking, PSG College of Technology aims to provide world-class Engineering Education, Foster Research and Development. The college was founded in 1951 by Dr.G.R.Damodaran, who served as first Principal of the college. It is one of the many educational institutions nurtured by PSG & Sons Charities Trust
The BAJA SAE Series® is an event for the undergraduate engineering students, organized globally by the Society of Automotive Engineers, USA. The event originated in the name of Mini - BAJA, in the year 1976 at University of Carolina. Since then, the event has spanned across six countries – USA, Mexico, South Africa, Korea, Brazil and India. The BAJA SAE tasks the students to design, fabricate and validate a single seater four - wheeled off road vehicle to take part in series of events spread over a course of 3 days that test the vehicle for the sound engineering practices that have gone into it, the agility of the vehicle in terms of gradability, speed, acceleration and manoeuvrability characteristics and finally its ability to endure that back breaking durability test.
